Orc Short Sword - 60 cm
Orc Short Sword - 60 cm
Epic Armoury’s Orc Short Sword is a latex weapon designed as part of the Orc Universe, perfect for warrior brutes and warlords alike. The sword is 60 cm long with a 45 cm heavy blade. Designed with sculpted notches, dents and scratches, the hand-painted iron blade appears realistically cruel. Orcs don’t fear pain, so the 12 cm handle is not protected by a crossguard. The handle is wrapped in split-leather for a secure grip.
Made from durable closed cell foam around a fiberglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can feel confident that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you want when crafting your kit.
- Available in 60 cm length
Inspiration
- Earliest references to orcs are found in Old English and Anglo-Saxon sources, such as in Beowulf and in 16th century Italian folktales
- The word itself stems from the Latin word Orcus, which was the name given to the Roman deity of the dead
- J.R.R. Tolkien’s 20th century The Lord of the Rings series describes orcs as brutish, aggressive beings with a taste for human flesh
- Tolkien’s writings influenced many role-playing games, and are now seen in such games as Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer and Warcraft
