Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Breastplate is a finely sculpted piece of armor that protects the front of the torso, chest and abdomen. Sculpted to fit the body and add structural strength to the steel, this galvanized steel piece has been decorated to mimic reptilian scales. The plate rests at the hips and has a V-shaped flange, or sword turner, that deflects blows from the weak spot where torso and leg armor fit together. The armor is made from rolled mild steel treated with Epic Armoury’s Epic Dark Metal coat, which gives the armor a rugged, antique finish.
The Dark Drake Breastplate is designed to match the other parts of our Dark Drake Armour Set, but is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume. Made of 1 mm thick galvanized mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armor piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armor care.
